Advisor for Ted Cruz Has GREAT Question About Ray Epps – Watch
On April 23, 2023, 60 Minutes aired an interview with Ray Epps, a man who was seen on video encouraging people to enter the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021. Epps has never been charged with any crime related to the attack, and his interview with 60 Minutes did little to shed light on his role in the events of that day.
In fact, the interview only raised more questions. For example, why did Epps encourage people to enter the Capitol? And why has he not been charged with any crime?
Ted Cruz advisor Amanda Carpenter had a great question about Epps’ interview with 60 Minutes. She tweeted: “Why did Ray Epps go on 60 Minutes and say he wasn’t working for the FBI, if he wasn’t working for the FBI?”
This is a great question, and it deserves an answer.
But the special advisor for communications to Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), Steve Guest, had a good question. Cruz asked last year, “How many FBI agents or confidential informants actively participated in the events of January 6th?” He also asked about Ray Epps, if he was a “Fed.”
Guest asked on Twitter: “Why does the FBI answer 60 Minutes but not the Senate? Last year when Sen. Ted Cruz asked the FBI the basic question ‘Who is Ray Epps,’ the FBI said, ‘I cannot answer that question.'”
The FBI has not yet commented on Epps’ interview with 60 Minutes. However, the agency’s silence is only making things worse. The American people deserve to know the truth about Ray Epps and his role in the January 6th attack on the Capitol.
It isn’t hard to see that there is a fundamental difference between a statement to Congress and one to “60 Minutes.”
These questions are just some of many that remain unanswered about Ray Epps. The FBI needs to come clean and answer the American people’s questions. The truth about Ray Epps is out there, and it’s time for it to come out.
Why does the FBI answer 60 Minutes but not the Senate?

In response to 60 Minutes’ repeated queries, the FBI issued this statement: "Ray Epps has never been an FBI source or an FBI employee." pic.twitter.com/6T77XFu9Cu

The FBI never does this. It’ll be interesting when they play cutesy games like they have been for the past several months. “We can’t confirm or deny,” they say under oath. But they’ll make an unsworn statement for 60 Minutes. https://t.co/YzkmpoEAla
