AG Barr Thwarts Mueller Holdovers
Since day one we’ve all known that this whole Russia collusion business has been a complete set up by the Hillary Clinton campaign and the Obama Administration. Then comes Special Counsel Robert Mueller who according to Democrats is going to take down President Trump and arrest him.
Mueller spent two years trying to find dirt on President Trump and he discovers that not one crime was committed by the President or his campaign. The investigation was really a long term process crime/obstruction of justice trap hoping to catch the President.
For two years with 40 FBI agents and Democrat lawyers that hate President Trump Mueller investigated and throughout the process they charged people with crimes that had nothing to do with the President 2016 campaign.
One of them was Roger Stone who tried to make himself look like a bigger player than he really was. Stone ended up being charged for obstruction and other process crimes. Federal prosecutors in the case recommended Stone serve between 87 and 108 months in prison. Barr thought that was complete nonsense.
An FBI agent that was fired for hacking a conservative lobbyist’s email account to protect Mueller got a laughable sentence compared to this.
So, Barr overrules the four prosecutors in the case, all Mueller holdovers, one being Mueller’s lead investigator, U.S. Attorney Aaron Zelinsky. The Department of Justice said that the prosecutors never briefed the Department of Justice about their recommendation.
“The Department was shocked to see the sentencing recommendation in the filing in the Stone case last night,” the DOJ official told Fox News. “The sentencing recommendation was not what had been briefed to the Department.”
All four prosecutors in the case have resigned and no longer represent the government in the case. Breitbart News reports:
Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Aaron Zelinsky submitted his letter of resignation to a judge on Tuesday and will leave Washington, DC, to return to his prior job with the U.S. Attorney in Maryland. Zelinsky was a part of Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.
Jonathan Kravis, resigned from the case and his job as an assistant U.S. attorney.
Special Assistant to the United States Attorney Adam Jed, also resigned from the case Tuesday evening in a formal withdrawal letter. Prosecutor Michael Marando also reportedly resigned.
We have no idea what Judge Amy Berman Jackson will do, the recommendation has been given and it’s up to her. This could be another impeachment trap for President Trump in the event Roger Stone gets the maximum sentence as Pelosi has already called for an investigation.
