Another Democrat Lawmaker Under Under Investigation For Sexual Misconduct
***Update*** 10/23/2019 1130 PM EST – Hill has admitted she had a relationship with her campaign staffer. However no comment yet on the other people involved.
The “new” Democrat party is certainly making history being the most liberal congress ever but, that is not the only thing that’s causing them to make history. On Wednesday we reported that Rep. Ilhan Omar is under investigation for an affair with a consultant she hired but, she is not the only Democrat congresswoman under investigation. Rep. Katie Hill is now the subject of a new investigation by the House Ethics Committee over an alleged relationship with a member of her Congressional staff. Rep. Katie Hill (D-CA) will be the first female lawmaker to ever face these kinds of charges.
The freshman congresswoman from California claims she did not have an inappropriate relationship with her legislative director, Graham Kelly as her husband Kenny Heslep claims. Hill and Heslep are in the midst of a divorce and Heslep claims that Hill, and Graham were involved in an intimate relationship. Previously news broke that Hill was involved in a “throuple” relationship between a female campaign staffer and Heslep for two years. Photos of the two (Hill and the staffer) including some very explicit pictures appeared on the conservative site RedState.
Dozens of House members throughout the years from both parties have been involved in sex scandals on Capitol Hill but, they were all men.
Recently Hill changed her story and blames the affair on her abusive husband but text messages given to the RedState contradict her story. On Tuesday Hill gave a statement to Politico and said, “The fact is I am going through a divorce from an abusive husband who seems determined to try to humiliate me. I am disgusted that my opponents would seek to exploit such a private matter for political gain. This coordinated effort to try to destroy me and people close to me is despicable and will not succeed. I, like many women who have faced attacks like this before, am stronger than those who want me to be afraid.”
However, The female staffer involved with Hill and Heslep sent the congresswoman a text message on June 3rd of this year saying that she is “terrified to push back against her[Hill]” because she doesn’t want to be treated like the way Hill is treating her husband Heslep. Additionally, in a text message exchange between a campaign videographer (who was hired by Hill) and Heslep confirms that Graham and Hill were having an affair.
To be clear this is a crazy story of two love triangles originally Hill was in a relationship with the female campaign staffer and Heslep was ok with it. Heslep became upset when Hill included Graham. The House Ethics Committee did confirm that the female campaign staffer was never on Hill’s congressional staff but, Graham is and Hill is going to pay a steep price for violating House ethics rules.
