Another Failed Biden Promise Is About To Cause Another Crisis
A little over a month ago Biden decreed he would use OSHA to impose a mandate that business with over 100 employees would need to be vaccinated or tested weekly. Biden also promised to use the defense production act and increase spending to make more tests available for Americans.
Biden doubled down his claims last week.
Jeffrey Zients, the White House COVID-19 response coordinator, summarized in last week’s press briefing that, “We are on track to quadruple the supply of rapid, at-home tests available to Americans by December to more than 200 million a month and to increase the number of places Americans can access free testing in the United States to 30,000 community-based locations.”
Despite the White House’s claim there is a national shortage of rapid at-home tests.
The government has purchased at-home tests to try and drive down costs but it’s not keeping up with demand and it has started a bidding war between health systems and states.
Dr. Arthur Reingold, chair of California’s COVID-19 Scientific Safety Review Workgroup and division head of epidemiology at UC Berkeley put frankly, Biden isn’t doing enough:
“The U.S. has lagged behind many other wealthy countries in making reliable COVID-19 tests, especially rapid tests, widely available.”
The White House did double the number of local pharmacies offering free testing but it’s still not enough and it will only get worse should the OSHA rule be put into practice.
Joe Biden is once again creating another crisis which would explain why a mainstream media news group poll from Axios showed Americans no longer trust Biden’s ability to handle the pandemic.
The poll found that Democrats and independents are losing confidence in Biden’s ability.
“He’s basically losing the expectations game,” said Cliff Young, president of Ipsos U.S. public affairs. “Once the Delta variant raised its ugly head, it affected people’s lives, and now they’re adjusting their expectations, which is not good for him.”
What’s also hurting Biden – who claimed he would “shutdown the virus” – is that more people have died from COVID-19 in 2021 (with a vaccine available) than in 2020.
The only thing Joe Biden is good at is being bad at everything.
