Are There Signs Biden’s Getting Ready?
To be or not to be the president for four more years. That is the question that President Joe Biden is facing and the question that many are agonizing about.
Biden is reportedly gearing up to make his announcement for re-election in 2024. This comes after months of speculation about whether the 80-year-old Democrat has what it takes to run in another campaign.
According to multiple news outlets, Biden’s intentions might be made public sometime in the next couple of weeks. And a formal announcement is likely to be made in April. Some insiders are saying that something will happen around the time of the State of the Union address.
One Biden ally said that the president is all in and it is not really a question of “if” he is going to run anymore.
If Biden does run again, he could find himself running against former President Donald Trump once again. He has already announced another bid for the White House.
No report so far has mentioned Vice President Kamala Harris. It was almost a year ago that Biden said he was committed to her as his running mate in 2024. But the silence now is raising some questions.
Biden’s adviser team has allegedly begun putting together a strategy for the 2024 campaign. They hope to broaden his ability to reach supporters on digital platforms like TikTok and WhatsApp.
This new year began for Biden with a rare joint appearance with Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY). Together they were boasting about their $1.2 trillion bipartisan infrastructure package Biden signed into law.
Biden continues to face major hurdles in getting another term, like the economy and inflation. He is also still facing chaos at the southern border and criticism over his immigration policies.
Maybe the biggest cause for concern for Biden is his family’s business activities that will take center stage as the GOP takes over Congress.
Here’s one last thought, if he gets another four years, he will be closer to 90 than 80 when he is done.
