Bass Responds To SCOTUS Decision
The Supreme Court sent a resounding message this week: federal immigration enforcement doesn’t answer to city mayors—especially not ones more interested in sanctuary slogans than in public safety. On Monday, the Court sided with President Donald Trump, affirming his administration’s authority to carry out Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids across Los Angeles. The decision effectively puts local obstructionism in its place and reestablishes the federal government’s prerogative over immigration policy.
Enter Mayor Karen Bass, who took to the podium in a dramatic display of defiance. Her response to the ruling wasn’t just emotional—it was revealing. Rather than acknowledging the rule of law or the supremacy of the Court, Bass insisted that she, as mayor, should have a say in whether federal agents can carry out their duties in her city. In other words, she seems to believe that federal immigration law is optional if you’re progressive enough.
An apoplectic Karen Bass says she “dissents” from SCOTUS ruling today allowing ICE sweeps to restart in LA.

But the law says otherwise. Immigration enforcement is a federal matter, and Monday’s ruling confirmed it unequivocally. Still, Bass acted as though she were the final authority, painting herself as a defender of “vulnerable communities,” even as Los Angeles continues to struggle under the weight of mass illegal immigration, homelessness, and resource strain.
Online reaction was swift and brutal. Commentators mocked her overreaction, pointing out the obvious: she holds no actual power to block ICE operations. Her theatrics may energize the far-left base, but they do nothing to change the legal reality. The Court has spoken, and for now, federal agents will proceed with their mandate.

Tom Homan, the former acting ICE director, has long warned that sanctuary policies only serve to protect criminals and undermine national security. Monday’s decision is a major victory for his viewpoint—and for those who believe the law should be enforced equally, no matter the ZIP code.
As for Bass, her attempts to stir up outrage may only lead to more unrest and bad decisions from activists emboldened by misinformation. Leadership, after all, isn’t about posturing. It’s about telling the hard truths and upholding the law, even when it’s inconvenient. If she were serious about protecting her city, she’d focus on supporting legal immigration pathways and reducing the chaos that sanctuary policies encourage.
Who GAF? SCOTUS is the highest court in the land, and the ultimate decider without a 2/3 constitutional amendment in Congress changing our laws.
She sounds like she has a lot of feelings IDGAF about, lol
