Ben Carson Gets Personal In Battle With Maxine Waters; ‘Basic Manners…’
Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson sent a brutally honest letter to House Financial Services Committee Chairwoman Maxine Water (D-Cal) over her criticism of President Trump’s method to fight homelessness.
In the letter, Carson slammed Waters for releasing fake news and misrepresenting the President’s plan to fight homelessness in California. Carson wrote, “My mother always taught me that people shouldn’t throw rocks, especially while they live in a glasshouse. Because of that wise lesson, I was a little surprised to read your hostile letter to President Trump regarding the record number of homeless Americans in California, particularly in your district.”
“Shamelessness is allowing more than 55,000 Americans to live on the very streets they represent. To me, the most compassionate, obvious, and logical solution would be to get as many homeless Americans off the streets — with a roof over their heads — as soon as humanly possible,” Carson said.
“I have sent multiple letters to your office and requested numerous meetings, but each time you’ve refused,” Carson wrote. “Basic manners elude you and it seems that instead of producing results, you’re more interested in producing cheap headlines at the President’s expense — like a true career politician.”
Carson also took Water’s to task over the fake controversy over his comments about transgender people earlier this fall. He held his position that he was repeating a concern that “big, hairy men” would try to enter women’s shelters.
“Shamelessness is allowing anyone other than a biological female into a battered women’s shelter,” Carson wrote today.
I just love Carson and the way he is handling Mad Maxine. Maxine Waters has to be one of the worst members of congress ever. You would think a congresswoman of her stature wouldn’t have over 55,000 homeless people in her district. It really seems those extreme liberal policies Waters and the other Democrats have put in place in California are really working (sarcasm).
Rep. Maxine Waters office has not responded to the letter.
