Biden Finally Addresses Chinese Spy Balloons
President Joe Biden has finally been forced to address the three objects that the United States shot down over the weekend. Despite the number of questions that the American people had about the action, Biden remained silent. His lack of response is surprising and leaves the American people in a state of frustrating angst.
The White House Press Secretary Karine Jean–Pierre had difficulty describing what NORAD was and called Canada “Canadia”. This is concerning and indicates a lack of understanding of the situation. We heard from the Secretary of Defense and the NORAD Commander, but not from Biden. On Thursday, he finally delivered remarks on the subject.
However, when he spoke, Biden didn’t give us much more information than what was already known. He said they still don’t have any further information on the objects and that there wasn’t anything to indicate that they were surveillance craft or from China. He went on to say they are still trying to recover the objects. He also said that they would be coming up with strategies on how to deal with these types of objects in the future. This includes taking a better inventory of what is in the sky, updating their ability to detect foreign objects, and clearly listing rules for dealing with them. There was talk of working toward global laws on this subject matter.

Biden also said that he didn’t seek conflict with China. This is concerning as it indicates a lack of strength toward a notoriously aggressive China. He should be taking a strong stance and clearly condemning the actions of the Chinese government. Instead, he is attempting to remain neutral and failing to stand up for the safety and security of the American people.
Biden should have had rules and policies in place to deal with such incidents. His attempt to remain neutral and avoid conflict is concerning while his people want a president who will stand up for them and protect them against threats. He gave a speech but did not answer the questions being asked, leaving many frustrated and confused.
