Biden Gets Taken To The Woodshed: Sinema Sticks A Knife In What Was Left Of Biden’s Agenda
Don’t let the media fool you, the Biden administration is in complete shambles and all of his major policies he was trying to ram through Congress appear to be dead.
Manchin pretty much killed the Build, Back, Better Bill and seeing the writing on the wall Biden pivoted, stating he would like to pass the House election reform bill before the midterms.
That’s not going to happen, Arizona Senator Kyrsten Sinema stuck a knife in it.
Senator Chuck Schumer signaled that he was going to push back the vote on Biden’s BBB bill until next year because Manchin and Joe couldn’t come to an agreement. Shortly, after the news broke that the vote would be delayed Biden seemed to indicate he knows the legislation is dead adding, “if we can get the congressional voting rights done, we should do it. … There’s nothing domestically more important than voting rights.”
Shortly after Biden’s comment Senator Sinema announced that she will in no way support the end of the filibuster and she will protect the 60 vote threshold. In order for the voting rights bill to pass – which would eliminate state voter ID laws among other crazy things – Democrats would have to get rid of the filibuster and pass the bill with a simple majority.
“She continues to support the Senate’s 60-vote threshold, to protect the country from repeated radical reversals in federal policy which would cement uncertainty, deepen divisions, and further erode Americans’ confidence in our government,” Sinema spokesman John LaBombard said.
Knowing full well the radicals in the House won’t water down the bill La Bombard added, “Senator Sinema has asked those who want to weaken or eliminate the filibuster to pass voting rights legislation which she supports if it would be good for our country to do so.”
Even if the election bill passed it would never be enacted because as soon as it hits the courts it would get thrown out.
