Biden Invited a Drag Queen for Kids to the White House – Watch

President Joe Biden invited another non-binary to the White House, this time a drag queen. The drag queen, who uses they/them as a pronoun, advocates “for children.”

Both the president and the First Lady, Dr. Jill Biden, welcomed Marti G. Cummings to attend Tuesday’s signing ceremony for the Respect for Marriage Act. 

Cummings thanked Biden across social media platforms for the warm reception, and she posted a picture of the invitation they/them received “requesting the pleasure of your company.”

Cummings is a Drag Queen Story Hour performer, she once performed in full drag dancing in a revealing outfit and singing “Baby Shark” on a bar counter. She was singing the song to a small toddler. Cummings shared a video of this encounter in march 2019 and it went viral. 

“When a 2 year old comes to brunch you perform baby shark for them!!!” Cummings wrote.

The 20-second video began with Cummings legs stuffed inside leather thigh-high black boots. They were spread out in the toddler’s direction and then they/them sat crossed-legged facing the seated child. 

Cummings told NBC News that the little boy partook in “drag roulette.” And they/them tweeted, “Anyone who thinks drag isn’t for children is wrong. Drag is expression, and children are such judgment-free beings; they don’t really care what you’re wearing, just what you’re performing.”

After some of the comments were not positive, Cummings began a rant saying that children don’t care if a man is dressed in women’s clothes, he said it is “the same when I do Drag Queen Story Hour.” Children “don’t care that I am a gay man in a dress; they care about the story I am reading,” Cummings claimed. “It would be nice if us adults could let the child inside of us out for a little bit, so maybe we could all be a little more accepting of others ourselves.”
