Biden Is Toxic: Democrats Threaten To Sink Joe’s Nominees
After being throttled on election day Democrats in congress are trying to save themselves to win reelection. Members of Biden’s own party are threatening to sink his nominees.
Democratic Senator Jeff Merkley told reporters that he’s opposes Obama buddy Rahm Emanuel’s nomination to be ambassador to Japan. The far-left senator claims he won’t vote for Emanuel because he refused to release footage of the police invovled shooting of 17 year old Laquan McDonald.
“Black Lives Matter. Here in the halls of Congress, it is important that we not just speak and believe these words, but put them into action in the decisions we make,” Merkley said in a statement.
“I have carefully considered Mayor Emanuel’s record — and the input of civil rights leaders, criminal justice experts, and local elected officials who have reached out to the Senate to weigh in — and I have reached the decision that I cannot support his nomination to serve as a U.S. Ambassador.”
Make no mistake the war between moderates and the far left in the Democrat party is heating up and if Joe wants his nominee’s to pass he’s going to have to come to the table over his Build, Back, Better Bill. Merkley didn’t release the announcement threatening to block Emanuel until the day after the elections meaning he is going to want something in return for approving Joe’s nominees.
AOC also piled all, calling for Senate Democrats to not vote in favor of Obama’s former Chief of Staff calling his nomination “deeply shameful.”
“This nomination is deeply shameful. As mayor of Chicago, Rahm Emanuel helped cover up the murder of Laquan McDonald — a mere teenager when he was shot 16 times in the back by a Chicago Police Officer. This alone should be flatly disqualifying for any position of public trust, let alone representing the United States as an ambassador,” she said in a statement.
“That the Biden administration seeks to reward Emanuel with an ambassadorship is an embarrassment and betrayal of the values we seek to uphold both within our nation and around the world. I urge the Senate to vote NO on his confirmation.”
