Biden’s Fake News Get’s Called Our By CNN
You know things are bad for President Joe Biden when CNN is even calling him out on making false claims about inflation, unemployment and the economy.
The network could not remain silent after Biden made erroneous claims about gas prices and the unemployment rate during a speech at a Democratic National Committee even last week.
Biden said that prices at the pump are down “$1.30 a gallon,” and claimed the average price is “less than $2.99” in 41 states and Washington, D.C.
Those numbers are flat out wrong, according to CNN and the White House was forced to correct the record.
The White House acknowledged by correcting the official transcript after CNN made an inquiry about the presidents numbers on average gasoline prices in America.
The fact is that zero states have an average price under $2.99 per gallon, according to GasBuddy and the American Automobile Association show. Biden was off by a dollar, 41 states and the District of Columbia have an average price under $3.99, not $2.99.
Biden has used the right number in several other speeches, the White House said as they were correcting his inaccuracies.
But the gas price number is one of the most important numbers in politics right now, and Biden’s inaccurate number went out live on CNN and MSNBC.
President Biden also claimed the 3.7% unemployment rate is the lowest that it has been in more than 50 years. But CNN noted that he is ignoring what happened in the Trump economy.
That caused a White House official to say that on at least five previous occasions recently Biden has correctly said that the current unemployment rate is “near” a 50 year low. Before the Trump presidency, the rate had not been as low as 3.5% since 1969.
So Biden’s false claim not only erased a previous low under Trump’s presidency, but also erased an actual increase from 3.5% to 3.7%.
Biden needs to do better.
