Biden’s Soon To Be Press Sec Just Blatantly Violated The Constitution
While Trump was in office members of the media accused him of violating the Constitution by blocking people that trolled or criticized him on social media.
Democrat lawyers who filed the lawsuit said that public officials’ social media accounts are “the most significant forums for the public to discuss government policy.”
The lawsuit was filed after Rebecca Buckwalter, a fellow at the far-left Center for American Progress was blocked by former President Trump in 2017 after she wildly mocked him spouting Russiagate conspiracy theories.
A three-judge panel on the United States Court of Appeals Second Circuit ruled that an official who uses social media for government purposes can not exclude people.
“This debate, as uncomfortable and as unpleasant as it frequently may be, is nonetheless a good thing,” Judge Barrington D. Parker wrote. “In resolving this appeal, we remind the litigants and the public that if the First Amendment means anything, it means that the best response to disfavored speech on matters of public concern is more speech, not less.”
“The ruling will ensure that people aren’t excluded from these forums simply because of their viewpoints and that public officials don’t transform these digital spaces into echo chambers,” lawyer Jameel Jaffer said who represented the blocked users. “It will help ensure the integrity and vitality of digital spaces that are increasingly important to our democracy.”
Let’s fast forward to 2022 and the Biden administration.
On May 13, 2022, current Biden Press Secretary Jen Psaki is stepping down and Karine Jean-Pierre will take her place.
Tom Elliott, founder of Grabien News fact-checked a post from the Cato Institute claiming that Jean-Pierre will be the first black person to be press secretary.
Elliott wrote, “The press secretary position only began in 1929 and a black woman held press briefings as early as 1991 (Judy Smith).”
“People these days seem to forget that in the 80s and 90s, race had already become a nonissue, which is why no one even knows this. Only over the last 10 years has skin color become such an obsession again,” he added.

Karine Jean-Pierre, who is currently White House Principal Deputy Press Secretary, a public official blocked Elliott over his fact check.
Surely a violation of my 1st Amendment right to troll the WH @PressSec pic.twitter.com/roWMSaTRoi

Jean-Pierre’s actions are a violation of the 1st Amendment thanks to the Democrats who launched the lawsuit against President Trump.
