Biden Takes Another Destructive Page From The Carter Admin That Will Destroy What’s Left Of His Presidency
Former President Jimmy Carter was terrible, inflation skyrocketed, and energy prices were through the roof.
In 1977, the first months of the year were cold and Carter gave a speech that became known as “The Sweater Speech.”
Instead of ramping up American ingenuity, Carter asked Americans to turn down their thermostats lecturing Americans about their need to curb the use of oil because of the crisis in the Middle East. The fireside chat was considered the moment Americans realized there was an energy crisis.
The Biden administration is taking a page right out of Carter’s book which will lead to their demise.
It is no secret that Joe Biden killed oil production inside the United States and that has caused gas prices to increase since he took office. Additionally, Biden’s failure to ramp up domestic production has hurt Europe which is still forced to buy exports from Russia because Joe won’t fill the gap with US oil.
Instead of easing the burden on Americans, Joe wants you to “put on a sweater” by purchasing a $55,000 plus electric car. Oh and that $55,000 is MSRP and if you’ve looked at the car market right now you’ll notice that if you pay MSRP on a new vehicle you are getting a deal.
Just buy an electric car he says and then has the gall to claim wages are going up and unemployment is down. Yes, wages may be going up but they are dwarfed by 40-year high inflation that is wiping out any gains in wages.
Biden could allow the power of the free market to take over and increase US production but instead, he wants you to be drowned in debt for a car that may save you $500 a year a decade after you bought it.
Oh and all those policies that Biden talked about in late March to lower gas prices are failing, oil is back up.
With oil back at ~$105/bbl and wholesale #gasprices rising, #Michigan is at growing odds for the first price hike/cycle in nearly a month. Ohio and Indiana saw small jumps a couple weeks ago, but the Great Lakes could see a price jump this week.
