CBS Blasts Biden’s ‘Watered Down and Neutered’ Afghanistan Report – Watch
Believe it or not, CBS just gave a response to the New Afghanistan report that the Biden administration released regarding what most consider a botched withdrawal.
What’s hard to believe is just how scathing the mainstream media network is toward the White House team.
The Biden Administration report is a summary of two classified reports that the president’s team turned over to Congress after a subpoena threat was made by the House Foreign Affairs Committee Chair Michael McCaul (R-TX).
It was clear in this whole process just how much the White House wanted to keep covering up the reality that’s in the classified reports. They know this has the potential to impact Biden’s run for a 2nd term in 2024.
Michael McCaul declared that the Biden Administration owed some answers to the American people and especially the families of soldiers impacted by Biden’s decisions.
Marine Lance Corporal Jared Schmitz’s father, Mark Schmitz, is one of those family members that deserve more than what they got in the 12-page summary that was released. He said that limited information “was an insult.”
Schmitz said that the “buck stops” with Joe Biden, it’s his responsibility, and he should “stop making excuses.”
CBS’s Margaret Brennan reacted with some intensity because the report was dropped on a holiday weekend and there were no plans for more details from the classified reports. She asked, “Was there anything missing from this summary?” “Yes,” she replied and then noted that they left out a July report indicating the Taliban was making “rapid territorial gains” and recommending that the evacuation be sped up.
So it is clear that when they said they had no warning, it was a lie and they knew it.
Brennan also explains that the White House left out any reference to the dissent of the military to Biden’s withdrawal plans. The president moved forward against the advice of military commanders like Gen. Frank McKenzie, the commander of U.S. forces in the Middle East; Gen. Austin Scott Miller, who led NATO forces in Afghanistan; and Gen. Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
CBS Senior White House and political correspondent Ed O’Keefe also lashed out at the Biden Administration’s attempt to “whitewash” the situation.
He noted how much they blamed Trump and how little they acknowledge their own mistakes.
“It is narrative. It is light on specifics. It’s devoid of citations. And it is, in essence, their version of events,” O’Keefe said.
He also called it a “watered down, neutered cleansing” that was dropped on the “high holidays.”
The father of a marine killed in the Kabul airport attack calls Biden's shameful attempt to rewrite history on the Afghanistan withdrawal an "insult."
