Chris Cuomo Slaps Media for Ignoring Border Crisis – ‘Jokes on Us’ – Watch
Chris Cuomo, the former host of CNN’s “Cuomo Prime Time” who was fired due to several scandals, has criticized the media for ignoring the border crisis. In a recent interview, Cuomo said while reporting from the southern border on Monday that the media is “more interested in protecting the Biden administration than they are in reporting the news.”
“Right and Left are wholly unreasonable on this issue. The Right couldn’t wait for the hordes to come through, and then when they did and we have our president laughing, ‘Ha ha ha. It’s not as bad as you expected.’ Really? With record numbers being processed and released into America,” Cuomo continued. “It’s no laughing matter, but if it is a joke, the joke is on us, because the people in power are allowing this to continue.”
He went further criticizing President Joe Biden and both major political parties for failing to act on the issue. He suggested that the people who had the power and responsibility to take action often chose not to because it benefitted them politically.
The NewsNation host then recalled Jeh Johnson, the Secretary of Homeland Security during former President Barack Obama’s administration, saying in 2019 that more than 1,000 migrants at the border was enough to overwhelm the system.
Cuomo also criticized the media for not covering the problems faced by those who live along the border. Cuomo aired a series of interviews recorded with local residents, including one woman who said migrants had routinely broken into her property, scared her daughter, and even hid under her car.
Cuomo’s comments come as the Biden administration faces mounting criticism over its handling of the border crisis. The number of migrants apprehended at the border has surged since Biden took office, and the administration has been accused of being unprepared to deal with the influx.
