CNN Had Some Bad News For Democrats on January 6 Hearings
They were certainly smug regarding the January 6 committee hearings, but the rug may have been pulled out from under them.
The Democratic Party may not be getting the bang that they thought they would get by dragging Trump allies through the mud in their public January 6 hearings.
The newest polling indicates that it has not helped Democrats as we approach the November midterm elections.
CNN data analyst Harry Enten was talking with Jake Tapper on his CNN show The Lead. He said that America’s primary concern is inflation even though 58% of Americans are paying either very or somewhat close attention to the hearings.
There was a total of 74% of Democrats tuned in to the hearings and a surprising 51% of Republicans tuned in as well.
But the big question that is being asked is whether the hearing is changing anyone’s mind about whether former President Trump committed a crime in trying to change the 2022 election results.
According to the big picture, nothing has changed since April of 2022, according to a survey.
The number of Democrats who believe Trump broke the law fell by 2%! And the vast majority of Republicans still do not believe that Trump committed a crime.
Tapper was left wondering if he thought the hearings changed how the Democrats will do in the upcoming midterm elections. It’s been noted how poorly they seem to be doing at this point.
Enten made it clear that Americans, by and large, are not rating the hearings among their top concerns for the country.
“The top issue for Americans at this point is not the Jan. 6 committee hearings, it is not Donald Trump,” Enten said. “It’s inflation!”
Surprise, surprise, surprise. All that effort, all that emotion. And it looks like it was all just a very expensive waste of time.
