CNN Refuses Ad
A controversial commercial, directed towards President Joe Biden, has been withheld from being aired by CNN. The ad, created by the group Building America’s Future, blames the president for the tragic death of 22-year-old nursing student Laken Riley, who was murdered by an illegal immigrant. The $700,000 ad was scheduled to air during Thursday night’s State of the Union address and was accepted by Fox News, MSNBC, and Newsmax. However, CNN has refused to air the ad, citing a refusal to be involved in politically charged advertisements.
According to the ad, Biden’s negligence towards the southern border has resulted in a significant number of illegal immigrants residing within the United States, thus causing harm to American citizens. The group behind the ad claims that Riley, who was out on a run in broad daylight, would still be alive if it weren’t for President Biden’s leniency towards illegal immigrants. The ad states, “Laken Riley should have been able to go on a run in broad daylight without being murdered by an illegal immigrant. But Joe Biden promised not to deport illegal immigrants.”
Riley’s tragic death has reignited the ongoing conversation about illegal immigration and the consequences faced by American citizens. Riley was killed by 26-year-old Jose Antonio Ibarra, an illegal alien who had been living in the U.S. since September 2022. Despite being arrested in New York City for injuring a child, Ibarra was released from jail before any immigration action could be taken. Building America’s Future points out that if Biden had ordered stricter immigration laws, Ibarra would have been deported or at least detained, and Riley’s death could have been prevented.
In the ad, Building America’s Future argues that Biden’s lax stance on immigration is to blame for the tragic death of Laken Riley. The ad highlights how Ibarra was arrested in New York City for endangering a child but was freed a second time before he could face any consequences for his illegal status. Ibarra then went on to Georgia where he murdered Riley. The ad raises the question of how many more killers like Ibarra have been released due to Biden’s open borders policy.

Phil Cox, a political strategist, expressed his disappointment with CNN’s decision to withhold the advertisement. He stated that it is alarming to see CNN protecting Biden from the criticism and the blood on his hands. Cox argues that by censoring the ad, CNN is neglecting to inform the public about the reality of the situation and the impact of Biden’s policies on American citizens.
CNN, on the other hand, explains its decision to not air the ad as a part of its policy to refrain from airing political advertisements that may be considered divisive or inflammatory. A CNN spokesperson stated, “We do not accept false or misleading advertisements, including those that exploit sensitive topics for political gain.” The spokesperson also added that CNN has been consistently rejecting political ads from both the Democratic and Republican parties.
However, Building America’s Future is committed to its message and believes that CNN’s refusal to air the ad is an attempt to protect Biden’s image. They argue that Biden and CNN are in lockstep, and the media outlet is silencing the truth to benefit the President. Cox reiterated that their group will continue their efforts to inform the public about the dangers of open borders and the consequences faced by American citizens.
The tragic death of Laken Riley has sparked heated debates about immigration policies and the safety of American citizens. The decision by CNN to withhold the ad targeting Biden has only added fuel to the fire. While CNN claims to have a neutral stance on political matters, its refusal to air the ad has sparked accusations of censorship and bias. As the debate continues, the focus remains on the tragedy of an innocent life lost and the larger issues surrounding the immigration policies of the United States.
