Democratic Rep. Vicente Gonzales Wants Reelection So Bad He Did This to His Opponent, Mayra Flores –
How far with these pathetic Democrats go? Rep. Vicente Gonzales has been working hard to paint his Republican opponent negatively in the race for Texas’ 34th Congressional District. And in his most recent reelection ad campaign, he does more than paint a picture with words, he actually transmogrifies an image of Flores giving her such an aggressive expression that it could unsettle some voters.
The doctored image appears at the ten-second mark in the attack ad which was posted to Gonzalez’s campaign account on October 10.
The ad states: “After the tragic shooting at Uvalde, Mayra Flores’ first vote in Congress was AGAINST a bipartisan school safety bill. We need a representative that works to protect our children and families; not someone who puts them in danger. Remember to vote for Vicente Gonzalez.”
The original picture shows Flores with a smile and holding a firearm. She is adhering to good trigger discipline. But the doctored image has been changed in such a way that she appears to be grimacing with her eyebrows down and elongated.
Gonzalez did not offer any indication that the image was altered.
Gonzalez supports incentives for illegal aliens, including DACA and amnesty, and has opposed deporting criminal noncitizens. And his ad criticized Flores for voting against keeping guns out of the hands of criminal elements from Mexico.
The ad ends with calling Flores “disgraceful” and claiming that “she does not represent South Texas values.”
Rachel Campos-Duffy of “Fox & Friends” said that “Democrats fear conservative Latinas so much” that they “do things like this.”
Michael McAdams, communications director of the National Republican Congressional Committee, tweeted, “More sexist behavior from scumbag @RepGonzalez. Dem candidate in key House race uses doctored photo to make female opponent look aggressive in campaign ad.”
Flores wrote on Twitter, recalling how “Vincente Gonzalez hired a racist blogger to attack me for my heritage” and indicating that her opponent is now “doing the dirty work himself with this shameless and pathetic photoshopping.”

First, Vicente Gonzalez hired a racist blogger to attack me for my heritage. Now Vicente is doing the dirty work himself with this shameless and pathetic photoshopping. https://t.co/5cMNOGQsyU pic.twitter.com/DukV8Wc1ZC
