DeSantis Comments On Cleanup Efforts During CNBC Interview
This is the kind of story that illustrates perfectly why many refer to the legacy media as “the enemy of the people.”
It’s not a major event, and it won’t be in the news cycle for long, but it’s a classic example of how the media fixates on irrelevant details while ignoring what actually matters. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, fresh off leading the state’s recovery efforts after Hurricane Milton, was once again pushed on a non-issue: the supposed phone call from Vice President Kamala Harris that he reportedly rejected. The truth? Who cares.
🚨JUST IN: Ron DeSantis shut down CNBC host that accused him of politicizing Hurricane Milton!
THIS is how you handle the Fake News!

There’s no real story here. DeSantis likely wasn’t aware of the call, and even if he was, there’s no compelling reason for him to have taken it. Harris holds no authority in disaster response, and her involvement would have been more of a distraction than a contribution.
The vice president’s role in recovery efforts is nonexistent, so why waste valuable time on what amounts to nothing more than a ceremonial gesture?
HOLY SMOKES. Kamala had her staffers giving her questions to ask during the hurricane briefing and she covered her mouth to let them know “It’s a live broadcast.”
Little did she know her mic was still on…

During an interview, CNBC’s Andrew Ross Sorkin tried to breathe life into this dead-end narrative, pressing DeSantis on the matter. The Florida governor wasn’t having it, swiftly shutting down the line of questioning.
It was a moment where DeSantis refused to let the media steer the conversation toward pointless distractions instead of focusing on Florida’s recovery.
Harris is livid that DeSantis was already in contact with Biden while she was chugging beer on Colbert. She’s trying to reset that optic by continuing this one-sided fight with DeSantis while he leads FL through hurricane recovery. No real leader acts like that. https://t.co/IwEBVgV6jE

What makes the situation even more ridiculous is the way Kamala Harris’s team responded. They spun the interview, attempting to create the illusion that DeSantis had somehow acknowledged Harris’s leadership—a blatant fabrication.
Her rapid response team twisted his words to suggest DeSantis was offering praise when, in reality, her name wasn’t even mentioned. This kind of gaslighting is typical of how her team operates, trying to elevate Harris from her largely ceremonial role to one of significance, when in fact, she remains firmly in the background.
