DOGE Releases Findings In Unemployment Insurance Claims
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt called it “horrible” and “incredible”—and you’d be hard-pressed to find a better description. The DOGE team, that quiet but increasingly vital digital oversight unit, just dropped one of the most eyebrow-raising findings to date. And while they didn’t outright say this was the exact discovery Leavitt teased, let’s just say: the shoe fits.

Here’s the bombshell: their initial survey of unemployment insurance claims dating back to 2020 turned up… well, a whole bunch of people who shouldn’t exist. Literally. We’re talking about:
-
24,500 people over the age of 115 who claimed $59 million in benefits.
-
28,000 kids between the ages of 1 and 5 who somehow netted $254 million.
-
And the real kicker? 9,700 people with birthdates over 15 years in the future—yes, future humans—collected a whopping $69 million.
One guy born in 2154 claimed $41,000. You can’t make this stuff up.
Elon Musk, weighing in on X, said it took several readings for the reality to sink in: we were cutting checks to people who don’t even exist. The DOGE team now estimates the total fraudulent payments tied to this insanity at close to $400 million.
So… what in the world happened here?
Was no one checking anything? A toddler claiming unemployment might raise a red flag, right? Or someone born after the next World Cup—or the next ten of them? It seems obvious that even the most basic system sanity checks weren’t in place. Department of Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer says they’re going after the stolen funds and trying to claw back what they can, promising accountability. But let’s be honest—if fraud this blatant slipped through, what else is out there?
Your tax dollars were going to pay fraudulent unemployment claims for fake people born in the future!
This is so crazy that I had to read it several times before it sank in. https://t.co/U5qqcyUgzo

And just when you thought it couldn’t get worse, remember: this comes after DOGE uncovered that non-citizens with Social Security numbers were voting. Some of them received benefits too. The layers just keep piling up.
But instead of rallying to fix this, what do we get? Anger—at Musk. Protests against Tesla. People shooting the messenger instead of tackling the madness. Why? Is it because he exposed something that wasn’t supposed to see the light of day?
