Don Lemon was fired from CNN…Here’s the Segment That’s Likely to Blame – Watch

Don Lemon was fired from CNN on Monday, and it’s no secret that his superiors were frustrated with him for some time. In fact, there was one heated segment that in particular seemed to set them off.

The New York Times is reporting that there was a final on-air segment that left Lemon’s superiors “exasperated.” Just five days before he was given the boot, Lemon interviewed 2024 presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy. Things quickly went off the rails.

Mr. Lemon made headlines after a highly contentious on-air exchange with Ramaswamy, a Republican presidential candidate. The segment deteriorated as the men fiercely debated questions of Black history and the Second Amendment; Mr. Lemon’s co-anchor Ms. Harlow could be seen sitting silently beside him, at times casting her gaze elsewhere and scrolling through her smartphone.

Lemon reportedly promised to change his behavior, but it was too late. His superiors had already made up their minds. They fired him on Monday, and they moved on.

  • The segment began with Lemon asking Ramaswamy about his views on the conflict in Ukraine. Ramaswamy responded by saying that he believed the conflict was “a proxy war between the United States and Russia.”
  • Lemon then accused Ramaswamy of being a “Russian sympathizer.” Ramaswamy denied the accusation, saying that he was simply stating the facts.
  • The two men then went back and forth, with Lemon continuing to accuse Ramaswamy of being a “Russian sympathizer” and Ramaswamy continuing to deny the accusation.
  • The segment ended with Lemon storming off the set, saying that he was “not going to debate with a Russian sympathizer.”

The entire spectacle was a microcosm of Lemon’s arrogant behavior on air, which has permeated CNN for years. Lemon has been reduced to a radical talking head that constantly pushes far-left, overly racialized talking points.
