Ex-FBI Agent Convicted of Hacking Conservatives Emails To Protect Mueller Gets A Laughable Sentence
Disgraced fired FBI agent Mark Tolson, 60, pleaded guilty in September to hacking Washington conservative activists Jack Burkman who aided 22-year-old Jacob Wohl in an attempt to tarnish special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation.
On Friday, December 27, US District Court Judge Leonie Brinkema sentenced Tolson to a mere one week in jail and 50 hours of community service.
Tolson had accessed Burkman’s email account and went through the lobbyist’s communications to try and thwart Burkman and Wohl’s attempt to take down Robert Mueller. Wohl used money to entice multiple women to level sexual harassment allegations against Mueller.
Tolson’s wife was even involved and had the password to Burkman’s email because she had done some side work for Burkman. Tolson then sent screenshots of the emails and the login for Burkman’s email to a journalist. During the sentencing Tolson told Brinkema that he knowingly broke the law to “protect Director Mueller” from Burkman and Wohl’s smear campaign.
“This is actually a very serious offense,” Brinkema said. “You’re lucky. Your wife is lucky. The government could have prosecuted her as well.”
“You can’t just rummage through other people’s accounts,” Brinkema added. “You had to have known better.”
You damn right judge and you should have thrown the book at him. This deep state spy knowingly hacked into another persons email account and he was a law enforcement official. Tolson should have been sentenced to the maximum amount and the only reason he wasn’t was because he was protecting Mueller. I wonder if this same judge would approve of an investigation and prosecution into the smear campaign that was launched against Justice Brett Kavanaugh.
Tolson maybe out of the woods criminally but he is going back to court, Burkman isn’t messing around. Jack Burkman was furious over the weak sentence and called Tolson a “cyber-terrorist.” Burkman said, “What a disgrace our judicial system is. Mark Tolson gets 7 days. Can you imagine the jail time he would have gotten if I were a liberal?
The good news is that we will be suing him in federal court for extensive damages.
