FBI Closing In on Hunter Biden
The walls are beginning to close in on Hunter Biden, the son of President Biden. Federal agents reportedly think that they have gathered enough evidence to charge Hunter Biden with tax and gun crimes.
The Washington Post first published this information on Thursday and cited sources familiar with the investigation.
The case is being headed by Delaware U.S. Attorney David Weiss, and it focuses on a false statement surrounding a gun purchase allegedly made by the president’s son.
Hunter Biden has for some time been criticized for his oversea business dealings and he has faced accusations of corruption and influence peddling.
This story exploded with the discovery of a laptop belonging to Hunter Biden that he left abandoned at a computer repair shop. Text messages taken from the laptop strongly imply that Hunter Biden was sending money to his father from his business earnings.
At the end of 2020, Hunter Biden admitted that his taxes were under investigation, but he claimed that he was confident he would be exonerated.
Hunter Biden’s attorney, Chris Clark, spoke about the new information leaked to the press about the FBI’s present investigation.
“It is a federal felony for a federal agent to leak information about a Grand Jury investigation such as this one. Any agent you cite as a source in your article apparently has committed such a felony,” said Chris Clark.
“We expect the Department of Justice will diligently investigate and prosecute such bad actors,” Clark continued. “As is proper and legally required, we believe the prosecutors in this case are diligently and thoroughly weighing not just evidence provided by agents, but also all the other witnesses in this case, including witnesses for the defense. That is the job of the prosecutors. They should not be pressured, rushed, or criticized for doing their job.”
