FBI Director Christopher Wray Refuses to Comply…GOP Ready to Explode! – Watch
Rep. James Comer announced that FBI Director Christopher Wray has ignored a congressional subpoena for an FD-1023 form that allegedly provides evidence of a bribery scheme involving then-Vice President Joe Biden.
Wray defied the subpoena from the House Oversight Committee for a document which is a memo from former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe. It reportedly details how Biden pressured Ukrainian officials to fire a prosecutor who was investigating his son, Hunter Biden.
Wray’s refusal to comply with the subpoena has outraged Republicans, who are demanding that he be held in contempt of Congress. “This is a clear case of obstruction of justice,” said House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy. “Wray is trying to protect the Biden administration from accountability.”
House Republicans are ready to escalate the situation. Comer explains in the letter that he’s going to try one more time by narrowing and clarifying the scope of the subpoena. If Wray won’t comply, then contempt of Congress proceedings will happen next. Unfortunately, the DOJ is run by AG Merrick Garland, which means there is a zero percent chance that Wray is prosecuted.
The Biden administration has defended Wray’s decision, saying that the document is protected by executive privilege. However, Republicans argue that the document is not covered by executive privilege because it was created after Biden left office.
The standoff between Congress and the FBI is likely to escalate in the coming weeks. Republicans are determined to get their hands on the document, and the Biden administration is determined to keep it secret. The outcome of this battle could have significant implications for the future of American democracy.
In addition to the subpoena, Congress is also considering other ways to investigate the Biden administration’s potential wrongdoing in Ukraine.
- The House Intelligence Committee is conducting a separate investigation into the Bidens’ business dealings in Ukraine.
- The Senate Judiciary Committee is considering holding hearings on the matter.
