FBI Zeros In: Disgraced Congresswoman Katie Hill Is In A Heap Of Trouble And So Are Her Friends
Disgraced Congresswoman Katie Hill is a piece of work, now she and her friends are in a heap of trouble.
Federal agents have arrested a hacker that influenced the 2018 Democratic California primary that led to Hill’s nomination according to a criminal complaint.
Arthur Dam went on a hacking spree according to a criminal complaint and is linked directly to the Hill campaign. As a result of his efforts Hill won the general election in California’s 25th District, however, she was forced to resign over sexual abuse allegations.
“Dam was found to be connected to the cyber-attacks through subscriber information, IP addresses, geolocation history, and open sources, including through his employer and his wife, K.O., who worked for one of the Victim’s opponents,” the complaint reads.
Dam’s wife, Kelsey O’Hara was Hill’s fundraiser during the campaign and her district director after she won office. O’Hara was also the subject of a sexual remark made by Hill caught on tape by Vice News. Hill’s Federal Election Commission records show that she listed a $500 in-kind contribution from Dam on March 25, 2018, for “graphic design and website security consultation.”
During the primary campaign the websites of Hill’s opponents who were supported by the DNC were both attacked, although Hill’s wasn’t and that was raising suspicions. One particular attack happened during a crucial moment for one of her opponents Bryan Caforio. Just one hour before the largest debate of the primary Caforio’s website when down.
The FBI launched the investigation into the Hill campaign in 2019.
The Intercept reports:
The FBI traced the hacking to an Amazon Web Services account tied to the email address preatorian_@hotmail.com, though the credit card used to pay for the service was listed under Dam. The Hotmail account had been created in 2002 using the subscriber name “Arthur Slam.” Dam also used the Hotmail account as the recovery email for his own Gmail account.
Caforio responded to the news that Hill’s campaign cyberattacker his website and said, “I’m absolutely shocked and saddened to learn today that Katie Hill’s campaign associates hacked my campaign in order to help her advance through the primary. This should serve as a reminder that Russia is not the only threat to our democracy. There are bad actors on all sides who will do anything for their own personal gain, and we need to come together as Americans to defend our country and hold everyone responsible accountable.”
Gotta love it, Democrats blame Republicans for hacking elections when in reality it’s Democrats hacking Democrats.
