Fireworks In The Oval Office! Dr. Birx Corrects Snarky Reporter & Pres Trump Demands An Apology
You won’t see this on CNN…
President Trump held a press conference on Tuesday with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis from the Oval Office and there were fireworks.
During the press conference, Dr. Birx briefed reporters that the US testing is similar to European countries who are suffering from the pandemic.
When it was time to take questions from the press a Yahoo reporter, Hunter Walker asked President Trump why the US is “lagging” behind other countries in testing for the coronavirus.
Annoyed, Dr. Birx interrupted the President and corrected the Yahoo reporter and it was beautiful to watch. After Dr. Birx shot back the President tagged back in and was all over the reporter…it…was…brutal!
Dr. Birx: To the Yahoo reporter I just want to make clear that South Korea’s testing was 11 per 100,000 and we’re at 17 per 100,000.
That’s when President Trump jumped in: Are you going to apologize, Yahoo? That’s why you’re Yahoo. Nobody knows who you are. Go ahead. That’s why nobody knows who you are. Including me. Go ahead. You oughtta get your facts right before making a statement like you did… Well, your facts are wrong.
Dr. Birx: Just check it again [referring to his numbers]
At first, Walker was defiant and cried about it on social media, he wrote, “In the Oval Office, I asked about test rates and infection rates compared to South Korea. President Trump and Dr. Birx said I was wrong that they’ve done more tests per capita. Trump said I should apologize. They did not address multiple questions about our higher infection rate.”
He changed his tune an hour later and apologized.
We have passed South Korea in the number of tests conducted per capita. I misread the mobile version of this chart and am sorry about that @realDonaldTrump . Our infection rate is far higher though as I noted.
