GOP Congressman Uses Dems Own Dirty Tricks Against Them In Impeachment Inquiry and Send Shockwaves Through Washington

It may not be checkmate but, its certainly House Republicans putting the Democrats in “check.”

The highest-ranking Republican on the House Intelligence Committee Rep. Devin Nunes spoke with Sean Hannity on Monday night and sent shockwaves through Washington when he announced who he is calling for his first witness. Nunes said:

Only Adam Schiff can subpoena Adam Schiff, but there’s a precedent for this. Remember, last Congress, they were hell bent on making sure that former Congressman Dana Rohrabacher (R-CA) testified. I said, ‘Look, I don’t think this is a very good idea to turn around and have members of Congress come testify and give depositions. So, congratulations Democrats that were on the House Intelligence Committee that’s now become the impeachment committee. They have set the precedent for members of Congress to give depositions and so you heard the Minority leader the Republican leader, Kevin McCarthy, say that Schiff is our first witness. You’ve had John Ratcliffe, a former U.S. attorney in Congress, say Adam Schiff is our first witness. So, yes, he in fact is going to be our first witness that we are going to ask to come and give a deposition.

In 2017 Democrats were in the minority in the House but, they insisted that Rohrabacher testify in the Russian Collusion Hoax investigation. Rohrabacher willingly testified because he had nothing to hide.

Obviously, Schiff is in charge but remember, Republicans through public pressure have forced the Democrats to make their hearings public. Additionally, it has been widely reported that his staff had contact with the whistleblower before the Inspector General was notified. Schiff is going to have to explain his contact with the whistleblower and the trip to Ukraine his staffer took. 

You gotta give it to Rep. Nunes for using the same tactics Democrats used against Republican Congressman in the Russian collusion investigation against them!

There are A LOT of coincidences between this whistleblower and Rep. Adam Schiff. I don’t see how Schiff doesn’t testify at some point, it’s even hard for Democrats to ignore Schiff had knowledge of the case before it was even under investigation. Also, don’t put it past Pelosi to sacrifice Schiff to keep the House or make him the “fall the guy” for screwing up the impeachment process. 

Don’t say it will never happen, this is the Trump era. Democrats don’t get away with all the bullcrap they used to, just ask Rep. Katie Hill.
