Have You Heard What’s Missing in the Video of Griner’s Prisoner Exchange? – Watch
If you are still reeling from the bad deal the Biden Administration made with the exchange of Viktor “The Merchant of Death” Bout for WNBA star Brittney Griner, this is not going to make you feel any better.
We now know what the Russian state news agency TASS edited out of their published video last week showing the prisoner exchange on the airport tarmac in the United Arab Emirates.
In the video, Griner is being accompanied by three Russian men, and she moves towards Bout. He was walking with one American man. When both parties got close, the men with Griner greeted Bout shaking hands and hugging.
Those critical of the video noted that it then jumps to Griner walking away with the American man Bout came off of the plane with.
It was pretty clear that something happened that was cut from the video. Critics guessed, and they were right, that it may have shown Griner shaking hands with Bout, the guy who US officials described as “one of the most dangerous men on the face of the earth.”
I guess they did not want the optics out there of the two shaking hands, but Bout confirmed what took place.
“I wished her good luck, she even extended her hand,” he told Russia’s state-run RT television network on Saturday. “Our tradition is to wish everyone good luck and happiness.”
He also confirmed that Griner engaged with him during the prisoner swap. “Yes, she did, and I felt she was very positive towards me.”
But also talked about his support for Russia’s war in Ukraine, “If I had the opportunity and the necessary skills, I would certainly volunteer.”
What a nice little encounter they had on the tarmac, this is just about beyond belief. While Bout’s in Russia giving insight into Putin’s war, Griner will be practicing her foul shots.

Probably not great optics there to have your star prisoner swap shaking hands with the most notorious arms dealer on the planet.
