Hochul Signs Knee Jerk Bills Into Law
Never let a crisis go to waste.
Democrat Governor Kathy Hochul – who was appointed not elected – signed a series of new laws focusing on the 2nd and 1st Amendments.
“This is a moral moment for the people of New York but also the rest of the nation,” Hochul said. “Follow what we did here in New York, and we’ll finally start to be at the beginning of the end of all this gun violence and the massacres that are occurring every day in our country.”
Hochul signed a bill that revises the state’s “red flag” law, bans the sale of body armor, requires licenses for the purchase of assault rifles, and raised the minimum age to 21 to obtain an assault rifled.
“We are microstamping bullets so law enforcement can have an easier time catching criminals, and we are losing loopholes so that firearms that are being so cleverly manufactured and alerted cannot evade our laws any more,” Hochul said. “There’s more to do.”
Not only did Hochul go after the 2nd Amendment she signed bills attacking New Yorkers’ 1st Amendment rights.
NOW – Gov. Hochul: “In the state of New York, we’re now requiring social media networks to monitor and report ‘hateful conduct’ on their platforms.”pic.twitter.com/5LctpfRuqo

In New York, the “hateful” conduct will be reported to her new “ministry of truth” that has been attached to the State Police via a Hochul Executive Order.
“Today is the start, and it’s not the end,” Hochul said. “Thoughts and prayers won’t fix this, but taking strong action will. We will do that in the name of the lives that have been lost, for the parents who will no longer see their children stepping off the school bus.”
However, some of these laws have already been challenged and failed.
Recently, a federal court found California’s law raising the buying age for semiautomatic rifles unconstitutional.
