If DeSantis is ‘More Dangerous’ Than Trump, It’s Helping Him

Michelle Gama Sosa wrote an opinion piece for the Daily Caller in which she maintained that liberals and never-trumpets are right, DeSantis is “more dangerous” than Trump and that is why he is winning.

DeSantis is continuing to build his resume as a favorite for 2024 and the media has been there at each step. Some of them have said that he is “scarier” than Trump. And those who care about COVID restrictions and “wokeness” should see the Florida governor as their “worst domestic nightmare.” He is going to pull together parts of Trump’s base that feel alienated after 2020.

Whether it is fair or not, Trump will be labeled with the title of “lockdown president” going into 2024, and Democrats are sure not to let him forget it. But DeSantis will be able to rise above all that rhetoric on domestic policy, and Sosa believes that the 2024 election is going to be a “[COVID] vaccine election,” to quote The New York Times. 

DeSantis is the one who has requested a criminal grand jury to investigate Pfizer and Moderna. And he has won points with language focused on putting Dr. Fauci and Pharma executives behind bars. The people that risked their jobs to keep from having the vaccine are going to be pulled toward him on that. 

DeSantis and Florida had the cleanest 2022 elections.

The combination of ending COVID measures and having election integrity laws nationwide should send shivers down Democratic spines. 

When you add to this booming economy in Florida that continues to grab businesses from Democratic states, and the battle against Disney’s unfamily values, you have a daunting candidate. 

At this point, DeSantis finds himself well-positioned to capture the 2024 nomination, especially if the focus remains on domestic policies. 

The fact that he is “more dangerous” than Trump is why he is winning right now.
