If the GOP Win the Senate, Dr. Fauci Is Going to Face Sen. Rand Paul – Watch
Kentucky GOP Senator Rand Paul is getting ready for a Republican takeover of the House and Senate. The rumor in D.C. is that Paul is going to be tapped as the future senior Republican on the Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee (HELP). That means the senator could be leading hearings focused on Dr. Fauci’s actions during the COVID-19 chaos. As we count the days to the midterms, this is becoming a firm possibility, so Fauci should be getting his story in order.
“If you help me win, I promise to subpoena every last document of Dr. Fauci’s unprecedented coverup,” a fund-raising email said from Paul’s team that was sent on October 20. This focused on Paul’s allegations that Dr. Fauci contributed to the virus’s creation by funding the research which was done in Wuhan, China. The doctor has denied such allegations.
Sen. Paul, an ophthalmologist by training, is getting ready to become the most senior Republican on the committee that oversees the nation’s health and education agencies as part of its large portfolio.
This possible scenario has made healthcare leaders tense along with trade groups. They are worried that Paul will do what he has said he will do in his criticism of “Big Pharma, the medical establishment and public health officials.”
Paul has argued that those groups wrongly ended disagreements about how to fight the pandemic.
Mitch McConnell, the Senate Minority Leader from Kentucky said that he expects Sen. Paul to lead the health committee if Republicans take the Senate. This also depends on Sen. Richard Burr (R-N.C.), the only GOP member with more seniority, retiring.
Paul made his position clear when he told “Rising” that the question has been answered already. Dr. Fauci has been less than truthful regarding the funding of the NIAID.
If the GOP wins, this is going to be amazing to watch.
