Is There Anybody Watching President Biden’s Tab on His Executive Orders?
Is somebody paying attention to President Biden’s tab? So far he has written 99 executive orders since taking office in 2021. And the total cost of his decisions will cost the taxpayers an estimated $1.5 trillion.
Most experts agree that the president’s agenda is particularly costly for the nation and it is compounded by the fact that the national debt is on course to hit $31 trillion later this month.
And of course, we also have the highest rate of inflation hitting our country in decades which is now north of 8.3%.
The Heritage Foundation’s Matthew Dickerson shared with Fox News recently that Biden has already “cost taxpayers more than $1 trillion so far.” And that may be a conservative estimate.
There is an analysis conducted by the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) indicated “that less than ten of Biden’s earlier executive actions cost taxpayers already more than $500 billion.”
Rep. Jason Smith (R-Mo.) declared on July 13 that in 16 months, Biden “charged American taxpayers $532 billion — all with no input from the American people themselves or a vote by their elected representatives in Congress.”
How is this happening? When a Democratic bill failed like the budget reconciliation bill that would have expanded ObamaCare, Biden just compensated with a stroke of his pen. $34 billion was added to the taxpayer’s tab.
When Biden took away Trump’s public charge rule, illegal aliens began acquiring additional welfare benefits and, according to the CBO, it cost the taxpayer another $20 billion.
And the granddaddy of them all was the student loan debt cancelation from Biden. According to the Penn Wharton Budget Model, the cost of this decision will be about $519 billion over the planned ten-year budget window.
Spending is out of control, especially in the economic times of our present day.
Let’s ask again, is somebody paying attention to President Biden’s tab?
