It Was Literally 3 Strikes for the Democrats…Yoooooouuurrrr Out!
“It’s one, two, three strikes you’re out at the old ball game!” The Democrats just keep striking out over and over and over again, this time literally.
The Republicans creamed the Democrats with a 10-0 shutout at the annual Congressional baseball game at Nationals Park.
One of the GOP heroes was Congressman Greg Steube (R-FL), he led the way by pitching five shutout innings.
He was replaced on the mound by Rep. August Pfluger (R-TX) who struck out two batters when the Dems had bases loaded in the bottom of the sixth inning.
For the Democrats, Senator Jon Ossify (D-GA) allowed the Republicans to score 5 runs in the seventh inning bringing their lead to 10-0.
Pfluger pitched the last inning of the seven-inning game for the GOP.
The Republicans have only won three games since 2009, but they have now won back-to-back years. Some were quick to connect this win with the “red wave” that is coming in the November midterm elections.
This 10-0 shutout at the #CongressionalBaseballGame is only a preview of what's coming in November!

The game is played for some hard-to-get fun in Washington D.C., but it was anything but fun for some angry activists that protested outside of the stadium.
A group called “Now or Never” released a statement before the game that referenced what the Democrats have already done but said, “Hopeful that both actions can be taken swiftly, activists will continue pushing until Democrats’ climate promises are signed, sealed, and delivered.”
U.S. Capitol Police Chief Tom Manger tweeted: “We are aware that demonstrators are planning to protest political issues at the Congressional Baseball Game for Charity. Our mission is to protect the Members of Congress during this family event, so we have a robust security plan in place. We urge anyone who is thinking about causing trouble at the charity game to stay home … We will not tolerate violence or any unlawful behavior during this family event.”
Three people were arrested outside of the stadium.
