JD Vance Issues Comments On John Bolton Statement
Of all the appointments made by President-elect Donald Trump, few carry the significance of his nomination of Kash Patel to lead the FBI.
The agency, once a cornerstone of American justice, has been tarnished by accusations of corruption, partisanship, and weaponization against political opponents. From targeting parents voicing concerns at school board meetings to the unprecedented raid on Mar-a-Lago, the need for reform is urgent, and Patel is uniquely positioned to deliver it.
Kash Patel isn’t just qualified; he’s a proven fighter. His pivotal role in exposing the Russian collusion hoax demonstrated his ability to cut through the bureaucratic fog and unearth uncomfortable truths. He’s precisely the kind of leader who won’t shy away from holding bad actors accountable, even within the highest echelons of power. Naturally, this has sparked fierce resistance from the entrenched elites who benefited from the status quo.
Former National Security Advisor John Bolton compares Kash Patel, President-elect Trump’s pick to head the FBI, to one of Stalin’s feared secret police chiefs:
“Trump has nominated Kash Patel to be his Lavrenty Beria. Fortunately, the FBI is not the NKVD. The Senate should…

Take John Bolton, for instance, who compared Patel to a Soviet secret police chief in an effort to discredit his nomination. This kind of hyperbolic fearmongering is par for the course from Beltway insiders desperate to protect their fiefdoms. Bolton, whose career has been marked by missteps and misjudgments, exemplifies the arrogance and detachment that have fueled public mistrust of government institutions. His criticism only underscores how much Washington fears real change.
Sen. JD Vance aptly captured the essence of the problem in his sharp rebuttal of Bolton’s remarks. For too long, figures like Bolton have championed “norms” that prioritize preserving power over serving the public good. These so-called norms have facilitated unchecked government overreach, including the misuse of the FBI to target political dissidents and enforce a partisan agenda. The time has come to dismantle this deeply flawed system and rebuild it with integrity and accountability at its core.
John Bolton has been wrong about everything so I guess Kash must be pretty awesome. https://t.co/V2wYNcqhmh

Patel’s nomination represents a direct challenge to these entrenched interests. His critics aren’t concerned about his qualifications—they’re terrified of what he might uncover. The skeletons in the FBI’s closet, from politicized investigations to abuses of surveillance, aren’t just scandalous—they’re an indictment of how far the agency has strayed from its original mission. Patel’s task is not just to reform the FBI but to restore public trust in one of the nation’s most important institutions.
The loudest opposition to Patel’s nomination comes from those with the most to lose. But the American people deserve a leader who will hold the powerful accountable, not protect them. If the “norms” Bolton and his ilk revere have brought us to this point of mistrust and dysfunction, then it’s time to break them.
