JD Vance To Face Off With ‘The View’ Panel
Vice President JD Vance is set to make his first appearance on ABC’s The View next week, stepping into one of television’s most politically charged daytime programs for what is expected to be a closely watched interview.
According to Fox News Digital, Vance will join the panel on June 16, becoming just the third sitting vice president to appear on the long-running talk show. All six co-hosts — Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, Alyssa Farah Griffin, and Ana Navarro — are expected to participate in the discussion.
The appearance is notable not only because of Vance’s position but also because Republican elected officials rarely appear on the program. A Media Research Center NewsBusters study found that among 341 guests featured on The View in 2025, only two were conservatives while 128 were identified as liberals.
Vance is expected to discuss his new book, Communion: Finding My Way Back to Faith, along with current events and his priorities within the Trump administration. His office did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment regarding the appearance.
The interview comes against the backdrop of a long-running and often contentious relationship between The View and President Donald Trump’s political movement. The program’s hosts have frequently criticized Trump and members of his administration, creating an atmosphere that could make for a lively exchange with the vice president.
Earlier this year, several co-hosts drew attention for remarks directed at second lady Usha Vance. During a March broadcast, Sunny Hostin and Joy Behar questioned her support for her husband and suggested her values should differ from those of the administration. Hostin referenced comments Vance had previously made regarding his Christian faith and his hope that Usha Vance, who is Hindu, might one day embrace Christianity.
Behar also highlighted Vance’s past criticism of Trump before the two became political allies, arguing that the vice president had dramatically changed his position over the years.
Those comments added to a growing list of clashes between The View and prominent Republican figures, reinforcing the show’s reputation as a challenging venue for conservatives.
With Vance preparing to sit across from a panel that has regularly criticized both him and the administration he serves, the interview is likely to attract significant attention from viewers on both sides of the political spectrum.
