Jeffries Comments On Texas Legislators
Oh boy, you’ve got to hand it to Texas Democrats — when the going gets tough, apparently the tough get on a plane and head for the exits. That’s exactly what happened when a group of them packed up and fled the state in an attempt to block a new congressional map that, let’s be honest here, tilts in favor of Republicans.
The goal? Deny the state legislature the quorum it needs to actually do its job during a special session. The result? Arrest warrants. That’s right — these lawmakers are officially wanted for the high crime of… avoiding work. You can’t make this up.
🚨Hakeem Jeffries: Texas Democrats have Trump and Republicans “running scared.”

Now, let’s pause for a moment because the melodrama here is almost Shakespearean. Gerrymandering is the great evil that suddenly requires fleeing like it’s the end of days? Please. It’s not new. It’s been around for as long as there have been congressional districts to slice and dice, and spoiler alert: both sides do it.
Don’t take my word for it — go ahead and pull up a map of New Jersey’s congressional districts. Some of those shapes look like they were drawn by a toddler with a crayon in the back of a moving car. If you’re going to clutch your pearls about Texas, at least do it consistently.
And then there’s Rep. Hakeem Jeffries, stepping up to the mic and, once again, proving that going off-script just isn’t his strong suit. When asked about this little legislative field trip, he managed to somehow paint Republicans as the ones “on the run.” You can’t help but wonder if he even read the room — or the news — before delivering that line.
🚨 BREAKING: @brianeharrison just ROASTED Kaitlan Collins for the rank HYPOCRISY in how they cover Texas redistricting vs. California and Illinois.

Meanwhile, Texas State Rep. Brian Harrison made quick work of the narrative when he took CNN to the woodshed, pointing out the glaring hypocrisy in pretending this is some unprecedented, democracy-ending stunt by Republicans.
Here’s the deal: if Democrats want to win these battles, maybe try focusing less on dramatic getaways and more on, I don’t know, not pushing policies that alienate huge swaths of voters. Craft an agenda people can get behind. Find leaders who don’t make you cringe. And for the love of all that is holy, please stop with the overcooked “stolen elections” narrative. It’s not working. But deep down, we all know they won’t do that. Because running away is just easier.
