Jennings Comments On Colleagues Statement
Oh, where to begin with this spectacle? Scott Jennings deserves some kind of medal for maintaining his composure while being bombarded with the wildest claims imaginable during yet another chaotic CNN panel discussion. It’s like a verbal obstacle course of misinformation, hyperbole, and outright absurdity, and Jennings is out here swatting away nonsense like a Jedi with a lightsaber.
This particular segment was a doozy. Left-wing social media personality Leigh McGowan kicked things off with a baseless claim that President-elect Donald Trump is planning to “send the military into blue states to make them behave.” Pause for a second—what? Jennings, understandably perplexed, asked her to clarify: “Are you seriously saying Trump plans to launch coups in states he didn’t win?” McGowan’s assertion was so outlandish that even CNN anchor Abby Phillip felt compelled to step in, though she quickly managed to escalate the drama herself by vaguely suggesting Trump wants to use the military domestically in ways that are not permissible.
Good Lord. @ScottJenningsKY has to put out multiple rhetorical fires on this CNN panel, which repeatedly lies, suggesting Trump will send the military in to “make blue states behave” or to shoot and kill “American citizens.”

Phillip brought up immigration enforcement, claiming it’s “not a function of the military.” Jennings, with the patience of a saint, explained that under certain conditions, such as a declared national emergency, the military—including the National Guard—can assist with immigration enforcement in coordination with federal and local authorities. He even cited Trump’s interest in invoking the Alien Enemies Act, a law that dates back to 1798, to address illegal immigration. But facts rarely gain traction in segments like these.
Enter Solomon Jones, columnist and apparently resident hyperbolist, who dramatically declared, “The military is not supposed to take up arms against American citizens.” Jennings again corrected the record, pointing out that the discussion was about illegal immigrants—not American citizens—but Jones doubled down, suggesting that distinguishing between legal and illegal residents would somehow involve shooting first and asking questions later. Yes, he actually said that.
President Trump will invoke the Alien Enemies Act to remove all known and suspected cartel members from the United States, and deploy the U.S. Navy to impose a full naval embargo on the cartels! pic.twitter.com/2AgAp9AhmB

This bizarre detour spiraled further into absurdity as Jones and McGowan insisted they weren’t talking about immigration at all, despite the entire segment being centered on, well, immigration. When Jennings called out the obvious contradictions, McGowan, in a display of shameless gaslighting, denied saying anything about shooting people. Jennings’s incredulous response summed up the situation perfectly: “It’s on video, Leigh.”
And here’s the kicker: McGowan has a track record of these wild claims. Just recently, she alleged that Trump is planning to use firing squads on his enemies. No evidence, no grounding in reality—just inflammatory rhetoric that makes for viral soundbites and little else.
Of all the defenses of the Biden pardon I’ve heard, “because Trump firing squads” might be the most creative. pic.twitter.com/gxguP7GxFZ

Jennings, to his credit, remains a calm, steady presence amid the chaos. Watching him navigate these panels is like watching an expert ping-pong player fend off a dozen balls at once. The man deserves a raise—or at least a standing ovation—for enduring this daily circus and bringing facts into the conversation, even when they’re dismissed or twisted.
