Joe Biden Says He Will ‘Restore’ Ethics In The White House
Democrat presidential candidate Joe Biden released a plan on Monday to show how his administration will “prioritize ethics” if he is elected president in 2020 saying that he will “ensure that no future president can again abuse the office for personal gain.”
Biden attacked the Trump administration and said that he will “restore” ethics in government and “rein in the executive branch financial conflicts of interest,” and “return integrity” to decision making in his administration. Biden said:
“We must elect leaders with integrity, for whom the public interest is paramount,” reads Biden’s plan. “But that’s not enough. We also must strengthen our laws to ensure that no future president can ever again use the office for personal gain. The federal government’s power must be used to better the country, and not in service of narrow, private interests. ”
The plan outlined five specific goals: Reduce the influence of money in politics (unless you’re a Democrat), restore integrity to the US Department of Justice and Executive Branch decision-making (unless you’re a Democrat); return ethics in government (unless you’re a Democrat); take control of financial conflicts of interest in the Executive Branch (unless you’re a Democrat); and focus on increasing the accountability of lobbyists and the lobbied (unless you’re a Democrat).
According to the information of the plan that the Biden campaign gave to CNN:
Biden would also work to create a “Commission on Federal Ethics,” which the plan says would “oversee and enforce federal anti-corruption and ethics laws.” The panel would also have investigative authority and the power to enforce subpoenas and refer some matters to the DOJ for criminal investigation.
Additionally, Biden would introduce a constitutional amendment “to entirely eliminate private dollars from our federal elections.” The amendment, according to the plan, would overturn the Supreme Court’s blockbuster Citizens United ruling nearly a decade ago and require federal candidates “to solely fund their campaigns with public dollars.”
The ethics plan also says Biden would work to make sure candidates for federal offices are required to release tax returns “dating back 10 years prior to the date they declared candidacy for their first federal office.”
Interestingly enough the plan was released the day after the former vice president’s son, Hunter Biden came out of the shadows and announced that he is going to resign at the end of the month from a role on the board of a management company of a private equity fund back by China.
Hunter Biden also reported that he will not work for any foreign-owned companies or serve on their board if his father is elected.
I hope you are wearing boots while you read this because boy is the crap flowing out of Biden’s mouth.
