John Kerry, Another Biden Confidant, Is Under Investigation – Watch
Another Biden confidant could be going down. Former Secretary of State and current Biden Climate Czar John Kerry is now under investigation by the House Oversight Committee. He has allegedly engaged in secret negotiations with the Chinese Communist Party.
“The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating your role in the Biden Administration and the nature of your negotiations with the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer wrote in a letter to Kerry Thursday.
Comer also said that in the 117th Congress, they requested information from Kerry about his position as special presidential envoy for climate (SPEC).
But Kerry has failed to respond to any of their requests and has continued to engage in activities that could “undermine our economic health, skirt congressional authority, and threaten foreign policy under the guise of climate advocacy.”
House Oversight Committee Chairman said that Kerry has continued to downplay China’s human rights violations and its antagonism against the U.S.
They challenged Kerry saying as a member of the President’s cabinet, he should be representing the United States’ interests. He said that his statements consistently show disregard for American national security and taxpayer dollars.
Comer is giving Kerry until February 16 to respond to the Committee’s requests, he already ignored a January 20th deadline.
The letter from Comer cites comments Kerry made in 2022 suggesting he has had talks with Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials to collaborate on greenhouse gas emission reduction. It also requests internal communications on the budget for Kerry’s position, as well as people who have been present in discussions with him and those who have been employed by his office.
During the Trump administration, Kerry came under fire for secretly negotiating with the Iranian regime. He also drew criticism from Republicans after saying the U.S. must compartmentalize China’s human rights record to focus on meaningful collaboration on climate issues.
John Kerry was asked point blank in September 2018 whether he was telling Iran to wait out President Trump. He did not deny it.@DanaPerino: "Is that accurate?”@JohnKerry: "Well, I think everybody in the world is sitting around talking about waiting out President Trump." pic.twitter.com/ThrNLWKjb9
