Kaepernick Who Hates America Gets An Emmy For Work With Nike
Colin Kaepernick who initiated the movement of kneeling during the National Anthem at NFL games in protest of alleged police abuse of African-Americans just got an Emmy.
It all started as there was speculation he might get cut from the 49er’s. While he was still playing ball he wore “cops as pigs” socks to the football practice.
Recently, he convinced Nike to pull a shoe that honored America in celebration of the 4th of July. The shoe was a USA themed sneaker that featured the Betsy Ross flag; it was a really nice looking shoe.
Kaepernick contacted Nike and told him that he and others find the shoe offensive. According to CNBC:
Kaepernick reportedly contacted Nike officials saying he and others felt the “Betsy Ross” flag — featuring 13 stars in a circle — featured on the shoes was linked to a period of slavery. The Betsy Ross flag is one type that was flown during the American Revolution. And the shoes were set to be released in celebration of the July Fourth holiday.
But the flag’s design, which was created back in the 1770s was to represent the original 13 colonies.
Nike pulled the shoe before it was even sold and that was that…Until now because Kaepernick and Nike just won an Emmy for a commercial that aired last September.
The commercial reaches its pinnacle when the cop hating, anthem kneeling Kaepernick says, “Believe in something even if it means sacrificing everything.” He concludes the commercial saying, “Don’t ask if your dreams are crazy. Ask if they’re crazy enough.”
According to Breitbart News:
Dream Crazy” was created by the agency Wieden+Kennedy, which says on its official site that the spot “focuses on a collection of stories that represent athletes who are household names and those who should be. The common denominator: All leverage the power of sport to move the world forward.”
Kaepernick’s involvement with Nike on this commercial even got the attention of President Trump wondering why Nike would use such a controversial person for such and ad…
What was Nike thinking?
