Republicans May Remove GOP Congresswoman From Leadership Role Because Of Her Impeachment Vote
A growing number of congressional Republicans are demanding that Rep. Liz Cheney (Wyo) be removed from leadership after she voted to impeach President Trump.
Rep. Jim Jordan is the leader of the Freedom Caucus and has been loyal to President Trump and he wasn’t Cheney removed from leadership.
“We ought to have a second vote,” he told reporters. “The conference ought to vote on that.”

Rep. Matt Rosendale (R-Mont) and Freedom Caucus Chairman Andy Biggs (R-Ariz) have also said they feel Cheney should not be part of the Republican leadership in the House.
“When Representative Cheney came out for impeachment today, she failed to consult with the Conference, failed to abide by the spirit of the rules of the Republican Conference, and ignored the preferences of Republican voters,” Rosendale said in a statement Tuesday. “She is weakening our conference at a key moment for personal political gain and is unfit to lead. She must step down as Conference Chair.”
Biggs told Fox News that he didn’t think Cheney “should be the
Biggs said he doesn’t believe Cheney “should be the chair of the Republican conference anymore.”
“The reality is she’s not representing the conference; she’s not representing the Republican ideals,” he said.
The day before the House voted to impeach President Trump Cheney announced she would vote in favor of impeaching the President for the unrest that occurred at the Capitol building on January 6th.
“None of this would have happened without the President. The President could have immediately and forcefully intervened to stop the violence. He did not. There has never been a greater betrayal by a President of the United States of his office and his oath to the Constitution,” she said in a statement on Tuesday.
People keep asking me: is the GOP dumb enough to impeach Trump?
And I say: the people who wanted the leader of the free world to be Dan Quayle? Who push mass amnesty bills every year to voters who hate them? Who thought Jeb Bush would coast to victory in 2016?
Yes they are.
