Look Out NBC! Attorney General Bill Barr’s Response To Chuck Todd’s Deceptive Video Is FIRE
NBC may have just picked the biggest losing battle of all time after Attorney General William Barr responded to NBC’s host Chuck Todd’s airing a very deceptive video of his comments.
On “Meet The Press,” Todd used a highly editing portion of Barr’s interview with CBS news, Todd focused on this part of the exchange:
HERRIDGE: In closing, this was a big decision in the Flynn case, to say the least. When history looks back on this decision, how do you think it will be written? What will it say about your decision
BARR: Well, history is written by the winner. So it largely depends on who’s writing the history. But I think a fair history would say that it was a good decision because it upheld the rule of law. It helped, it upheld the standards of the Department of Justice, and it undid what was an injustice.
Todd only played those first two sentences of his response, when Barr said, “Well, history is written by the winner. So it largely depends on who’s writing the history.”
Todd then used those two sentences to attack Barr, saying, “I was struck … by the cynicism of the answer. It’s a correct answer. But he’s the attorney general. He didn’t make the case that he was upholding the rule of law. He was almost admitting that, yeah, this is a political job.”
What Todd didn’t air was Barr’s full statement that said, “But I think a fair history would say that it was a good decision because it upheld the rule of law. It helped, it upheld the standards of the Department of Justice, and it undid what was an injustice.”
Below is the video:
Today on Meet The Press, @chucktodd wildly took context out of an answer AG Bill Barr gave about his decision to drop the case into Gen. Michael Flynn.
I cut Todd’s segment along with Barr’s full answer together. Look at how blatantly dishonest this is. pic.twitter.com/tODOEwL48V

Barr’s spokeswoman Kerri Kopek responded to the deceptive video posting screenshots of transcripts compared to what Todd claimed Barr versus what he actually said.
Very disappointed by the deceptive editing/commentary by @ChuckTodd on @MeetThePress on AG Barr’s CBS interview.
Compare the two transcripts below. Not only did the AG make the case in the VERY answer Chuck says he didn’t, he also did so multiple times throughout the interview. pic.twitter.com/PR1ciceMmE

After the news broke that NBC aired a deceptive video about Barr went viral, Catherine Herridge who conducted the interview on CBS aired the video in context and even added a little jab at NBC News.
HERRIDGE: When the special counsel report was released last year, you were accused by critics of putting your thumb on the scale in the president’s favor. Are you doing the president’s bidding in General Flynn’s case?
BARR: No, I’m doing the law’s bidding. I’m doing my duty under the law, as I see it.

NBC News has apologized but Chuck Todd has not.
