Deployment Of Marines Has All The Signs Of Another Embarrassing Biden International Incident
With little fan fair a contingent of Marines and a US special operations unit has been deployed and the situation has all the makings of another embarrassing Biden international incident.
The Wall Street Journal reported that two dozen members of a US special operations unit and a contingent of Marines have been sent to Taiwan. Their mission is to train Taiwan’s ground and maritime forces.
The CCP has done a lot of saber rattling the past couple of weeks including sending 150 war planes buzzing the island nation.
The Chinese government does not view Taiwan as an independent country and claims they have gone rogue. It is expect that Xi Jinping will deliver a speech over the weekend emphasizing reunification.
Meanwhile, the Chinese Generals are telling Xi they want permission to take Taiwan.

China’s foreign ministry has demanded that the US follow the prior agreement and stop all military aid to Taiwan. “China will take all necessary steps to protect its sovereignty and territorial integrity,” it said.
Before Trump left office he declassed a US Strategic Framework outlining the area to hold the incoming Biden administration accountable. It highlighted that China will take “increasingly assertive steps to compel unification with Taiwan” and said that the U.S. “enable Taiwan to develop an effective asymmetric defense strategy and capabilities that will help ensure its security, freedom from coercion, resilience and ability to engage China on its own terms.”
However, the Wall Street Journal noted that the Biden administration has done nothing:
The document hasn’t been supplanted by a new Biden administration strategy, nor is it technically being implemented. Biden administration officials have acknowledged that there are areas of continuity between the two administrations on China policies.
Just one day ago Biden said that he would abide by the Taiwan Relations Act which limits the amount of aid America can give Taiwan.
“I’ve spoken with Xi about Taiwan. We agree we will abide by the Taiwan agreement. That’s where we are and I made it clear that I don’t think he should be doing anything other than abiding by the agreement,” Biden told reporters.’
Meanwhile, National Security adviser Jake Sullivan met with Yang Jiechi, China’s top diplomat in Zurich earlier this week.
Sullivan was the driving force advising Biden during the Afghanistan withdrawal and we all know how that turned out.
This has all the makings of another international crisis that will be caused by Joe Biden.
