Mattel Rolls Out Gender Neutral Barbie Doll
Thought I would take a little break from the impeachment insanity and found this, toymaker Mattel is introducing a Barbie line of “gender-neutral dolls.” The goal of these dolls is to target children who do not want their “toys to be dictated by gender norms.”
The company introduced 29 dolls called “Creatable World,” which comes in different kits with hair, clothing, and other options to make the doll more masculine or feminine.
“Toys are a reflection of culture and as the world continues to celebrate the positive impact of inclusivity, we felt it was time to create a doll line free of labels,” Kim Culmone, senior vice president of Mattel Fashion Doll Design, said in a statement. “Through research, we heard that kids don’t want their toys dictated by gender norms.”
Mattel even toned down their language using the pronoun “they” and used a slogan “A doll line designed to keep labels out and invite everyone in.”
So just in time for Christmas, you can get your very own gender-neutral correct pronoun Barbie doll and they are available at Target, Walmart, and Amazon (total sarcasm). You know what would be hilarious if there are shelves empty of Barbies except these.
The announcement of the Barbies was not received well.

So if I decide to buy my daughter a Barbie doll when she’s older, does that make me an outdated and sexist father? Should I, to avoid imposing a gender on her, buy her a gender-neutral doll if such a thing exists (probably does lol) 🤷🏿♂️🤦🏿♂️ #liberalismgonemad
