Maxine Waters Went To The US Department Of Housing and Urban Development
Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) is once again making headlines—not for her legislative prowess, but for yet another political performance that ended in self-inflicted embarrassment. This time, she set her sights on the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), attempting to stage a protest against the administration’s efforts to eliminate waste and fraud. But what was supposed to be a bold stand quickly unraveled into a farcical display.

The congresswoman arrived at HUD headquarters with the intention of hand-delivering a letter to Secretary Scott Turner, demanding a face-to-face meeting. When staffers explained that Turner was occupied, Waters insisted she would wait indefinitely, even declaring, “I’m prepared to stay here until hell freezes over.”
This is what a political stunt looks like:
1️⃣ Maxine Waters was not denied entry
2️⃣The Congresswoman spoke with HUD senior leadership
3️⃣Waters watched President Trump accomplishments video in lobby‼️
4️⃣Waters asked senior leadership to say she was being denied
5️⃣She departed https://t.co/2NfuKkp0Wr— Sec. Turner Press Office (@SecTurnerPress) March 3, 2025
That declaration aged poorly—within minutes, she was seen walking away. The dramatic pledge to stand her ground turned out to have the staying power of a snowflake in July.

Adding to the spectacle, HUD’s chief of staff offered her the option of watching a video highlighting President Trump’s accomplishments while she waited. And, according to reports, she did indeed watch it, at least for a brief moment. In an official post on X, Turner’s office even clarified that she was never denied entry, despite her claims to the contrary. The message noted that she had the opportunity to deliver her letter and that staff remained professional throughout.

But Waters wasn’t the only one vying for attention that day. Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), never one to miss an opportunity for theatrics, jumped into the fray as well. While Waters’ approach was more passive-aggressive, Tlaib went full-volume, launching into an expletive-laden tirade when a staffer calmly stated that he worked “for the American people.” Her response? A heated rebuttal, complete with profanity, reinforcing the chaotic nature of the spectacle.
