Mazie’s Crazy! Listen to What Sen. Hirono Said from the SENATE FLOOR!
There’s so much talk about “extreme MAGA Republicans inciting violence, but who’s really actually inciting the violence?
Democratic Sen. Mazie Hirono of Hawaii said she was issuing “literally a call to arms” against the pro-life movement. She gave this speech on Wednesday FROM THE SENATE FLOOR.
“When I hear my colleagues talking about how, you know, it should be states’ rights, or government should not be telling us what to do, the word ‘hypocrites,’ it doesn’t even go far enough to call them out on what they’re doing,” said Hirono during her speech. “This is an outright attack on women in this country. That is how I see it.”
The fervor in this speech is how Democrats felt after Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina introduced legislation that would ban abortions beyond the 15-week threshold. This is the point when scientists have proven babies can feel pain.
Graham’s bill excluded pregnancies from rape, incest, and medical emergencies that would threaten the life of the mother.
Hirono ended her speech with even more intensity, “Madam president, I yield the floor, but clearly, you know, this is a — literally call to arms in our country, I yield the floor,” she concluded.
It didn’t take long for social media to pick up on this rallying for violence against the pro-life movement. Since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, there have been dozens of attacks on pro-life centers and churches, no matter how much Biden “claims” that he is working to unite Americans.
Hirono must have wanted to stand by her call to violence, she tweeted a video of the “call to arms” speech from her official account.
“This is not some sort of hypothetical debate,” she wrote in the tweet. “The stakes have never been this high, Democrats have to hold the Senate this November.”
