McCarthy Cuts Loose on CNN Reporter…It’s Priceless! Watch
House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) went toe to toe with a CNN reporter this week when they tried to put him in a corner for support former President Donald Trump after his indictment.
McCarthy came out swinging asking how CNN could justify hiring people like former FBI official Andrew McCabe and DNI James Clapper. McCarthy said that McCabe was fired by the FBI for “lacking candor” and Clapper was part of that group of 51 officials who claimed, without any evidence to support it, that the Hunter Biden laptop was likely Russian disinformation.
The House Speaker didn’t stop there, he also noted that while they keep asking him about Trump, they don’t ask “one question” about Joe Biden. The current president had classified documents in his possession for years, even when he was a senator.
McCarthy asked, “Does that raise any questions to you?”
“Has anyone ever asked the current president why would he have a classified document outside of the SCIF from his Senate days? Has he ever been confronted with that question?”
One responded, “Well, he gave them back,” without seeming to grasp what the problem was.
Biden himself mentioned records going back to 1974, so he’s had classified documents for years, if the reports are true.
Even Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) was stunned by that at the time, outlining some of the process, “I don’t understand what has happened here.”
Durbin said it’s “unthinkable” that a senator would take home classified materials — much like Joe Biden apparently did with classified documents from his time as a senator, which were recently found hidden in his home.
McCarthy also cut loose in a Fox News interview, pointing to the unequal coverage by the media, and he’s shaming them for failing to properly do their jobs and ask the questions that they should be asking.
