Meghan McCain Comments On Trump Cabinet Nominee
Well, well, well—looks like Meghan McCain has finally had her come-to-Jesus moment. After years of railing against Donald Trump, denouncing his leadership, and making herself a darling of the anti-Trump media, she’s suddenly struck a more measured, dare we say, supportive tone. What changed? Simple: Trump is back in the White House, running circles around the left, and McCain—ever the political chameleon—knows which way the wind is blowing.
Let’s not forget, this is the same Meghan McCain who spent her tenure on ABC’s The View playing the role of the “reasonable Republican” for a liberal audience that barely tolerated her. She milked every ounce of political capital she could from her family name while keeping just enough distance from the Republican base to remain welcome in elite media circles. But now? Now she’s singing a different tune.
The criticism of @TulsiGabbard from @senmarkkelly and @senmcconnell has always been baseless, disrespectful – and now it is increasingly sexist toward an accomplished active duty woman who is a true maverick and a bold hearted American patriot.
I look forward to seeing you both…

In her latest statement, McCain acknowledges that, while she still has her “personal issues” with Trump, she actually supports many of his policy changes and admires members of his cabinet. A shocking revelation, right? Not really. Because here’s the thing—McCain has always been an opportunist. She’s not a Never Trumper, and she never fully embraced the Resistance™ crowd. But she also spent years throwing stones at Trump when it was convenient, only to turn around and extend an olive branch when it became clear he wasn’t going anywhere.
And let’s talk about timing. Trump is entering his second week in office with momentum. His administration dropped over 100 executive orders on Day One, stunning the D.C. establishment and completely upending the left’s ability to counteract his policies. Meanwhile, Senate Republicans are lining up behind his cabinet picks, including Pete Hegseth, who just secured his confirmation as Secretary of Defense with minimal GOP defections. Trump is winning, and McCain knows it.
I’ve gotten to know @TulsiGabbard working closely with her the last few months. She is selfless, honorable, and a patriot who deeply loves this country, above all else. https://t.co/wJua5gobBD

Now, her comments about the progressive left are worth noting. She finally admits what conservatives have known for years: the most “cruel, close-minded, awful” people she’s ever worked with weren’t MAGA Republicans—they were progressive Democrats. That’s an admission you wouldn’t have caught her making back when she was trying to curry favor with the media. But now? Now she’s playing the “I’ve always been a proud conservative” card, as if she wasn’t spending years throwing red meat to anti-Trump networks for a paycheck.
Of course, McCain still has her own agenda. She’s pushing a podcast, writing for the Daily Mail, and trying to stay relevant in a world where being a generic “anti-Trump Republican” doesn’t pay the bills like it used to. The market for pearl-clutching moderates has dried up—so now she’s trying to reposition herself as a principled conservative who, conveniently, doesn’t want to waste her time “screaming on CNN.”
It is very satisfying to see the United States pull its weight and act like the richest most powerful country that it is.
What a necessary correction after years of concededing its national interests in order to project benevolence on the world stage.
