Melania Gets Candid Tears Into Biden-Harris Admin
Former First Lady Melania Trump did not hold back in her critique of the Biden-Harris administration during an exclusive interview with FOX & Friends co-host Ainsley Earhardt, marking her first television appearance in over two years. In the interview, Melania outlined what she sees as a stark contrast between her husband’s tenure in the White House and the current administration’s policies, offering a pointed assessment of the challenges facing America under President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.
“The country is suffering,” Melania said, addressing the possibility of Harris replacing Biden as the Democratic nominee in 2024. “People are not able to buy usual necessities for their families. We have wars going on around the world. Soldiers are dying… The border is open and dangerous. A lot of fentanyl is coming over, killing our youth. It’s very hard to see.”
Her words underscored the deep sense of frustration that many Americans have expressed regarding rising inflation, border insecurity, and the United States’ handling of foreign conflicts under the current administration.
Melania’s comparison of the Biden-Harris record to her husband’s presidency was sharp and deliberate. “If we compare these four years under this administration compared to four years under my husband as commander in chief, he was leading the country through peace through strength,” she said.
Reflecting on her husband’s presidency, she noted that during his time in office, “the border was safer than ever before. We didn’t have any wars. People were prospering. They had jobs. They could support their families.” In contrast, she described the economic situation under Biden as dire, with inflation soaring and American families struggling to make ends meet.
The timing of Melania’s interview is notable, not only as it came ahead of the release of her new memoir, Melania, but also in light of the recent assassination attempts on Donald Trump. During the sit-down, she opened up about the harrowing moments following the first attempt on her husband’s life, which occurred at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
Gunman Thomas Matthew Crooks fired at Trump, grazing his ear and leaving him bloodied. The attack also claimed the life of Pennsylvania fire chief Corey Comperatore and left several others injured. Recalling the moment, Melania said, “I ran to the TV and I [rewound] it and I watched it… Nobody really knew yet. Because when you see him on the floor, and you don’t know what really happened.”
The former First Lady also discussed the second attempt on Trump’s life, which took place just two months later at Trump International Golf Course in West Palm Beach, Florida. A gunman, Ryan Routh, was spotted with a firearm concealed among the bushes. Melania, who was in New York at the time, expressed her deep gratitude for the Secret Service, crediting them for protecting her husband during both incidents. “The guys, the team, they were fantastic… Both of the events, they were really miracles,” she said.
In her reflective tone, Melania emphasized the importance of leadership, drawing a line between what she believes were strong, effective policies under Trump and the perceived weaknesses of the current administration. “Maybe some strong tweets, but everything else great for this country,” she quipped, nodding to the criticisms Trump faced over his brash communication style but doubling down on her belief that his policies were ultimately more beneficial for the American people.
